About the Detroit Green Map
Who We Are
The Detroit Green Map is a collaboration between the Detroit Green Skills Alliance (DGSA) and the US Green Building Council, Detroit Region’s Emerging Professionals subcommittee.
What We Do
We connect the public to local businesses and non-profits that demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability and social equality. We believe that increased communication about how to visit and support these organizations can help establish Detroit as a premier example of the Green Economy.
The Detroit Green Skills Alliance (DGSA) was originally designated as a Michigan Skills Alliance supported in part with funding and technical assistance from the State of Michigan. It has now grown into an independent industry alliance formed to serve the needs of businesses, non profits and residents within the Detroit area. DGSA has two purposes:
1) Assisting green economy businesses and organizations expand their capacity
2) Creating job opportunities and career pathways for Detroit residents.

The US Green Building Council (USGBC) Detroit Regional Chapter (DRC) is a non- profit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for the Detroit region through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. The organization’s mission is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built, and operated in the greater Detroit region in a way that approaches true sustainability and healthy regeneration. USGBC Emerging Professionals (EPs) are the energetic and dynamic leaders of the green building movement.
