The 20 kW solar array and an energy efficient lighting project were completed, leveraging city’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant and as well as funding from the Detroit Economic Development Corporation to complete $1.7 million in energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to the facility. The project estimated an average payback of 3.5 years, including energy and operational savings.
